Life Care Drugs MD Too Held In Drug Purchase Scam

Hyderabad, Oct.5 (Maxim News): Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested B. Sudhakar Reddy, MD of Life Care Drugs & Pharmaceuticals in connection with multi-crore Drug scam relating to supply of medicines to Dispensaries and Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospitals across Telangana State.

In a statement here, the ACB said the accused was actively involved in the scam and personally pursued and met the Director, Asst. Director and other officials and got purchase orders worth Rs. 8,25,25,594.73.

The ACB said there appears to be no specific reason for placing such huge orders to Messrs Life Care Drugs and Surgicals and Messrs Life Care Pharma of the accused. The rates were also higher than the contract rates agreed upon and the guidelines issued by the Government of India and Government of Telangana, which were violated by officials of Indian Medical Services (IMS).
