Lingampally Steel RoB To Connect Gulmohar And BHEL

Lingampally Steel RoB | Hyderabad, Nov. 6: Construction of a four lane steel road over bridge near Lingampally railway station is expected to begin soon. The ₹308 crore project aims to ease traffic congestion across Hyderabad’s western suburbs and IT corridor.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) selected a steel structure instead of the initially proposed Bowstring design. The decision followed a joint inspection with railway authorities.

The proposed bridge will stretch around 2 km from Gulmohar Junction to BHEL Junction. It will also include a two lane up ramp from Gulmohar Junction.

Following discussions with the Hyderabad Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority, CMC revised the project design. The Gachibowli to BHEL arm will extend beyond Gulmohar Park Junction.

The extension aims to provide direct connectivity for Gachibowli to BHEL traffic. It is also expected to reduce congestion on the existing Nallagandla RoB.

Lingampally Steel RoB to Ease Commuting for Tellapur Residents

Cyberabad Traffic officials identified a bottleneck near Taranagar on the road connecting Serilingampally RoB to BHEL. The stretch requires widening from its existing 60 or 80 feet to 100 feet under the approved Road Development Plan.

The project will also include junction improvements and 41 piers. Officials said the steel structure would speed up construction and minimise disruption to railway services and local traffic.

The bridge is expected to benefit Tellapur residents and IT professionals. Currently, commuters face delays near Lingampally railway station and the flood prone underpass.

During heavy rains, the underpass floods and disrupts traffic. Commuters travelling towards Gachibowli, HITEC City and the Financial District can lose an additional 15 to 20 minutes crossing the railway stretch.

The project is expected to reduce traffic congestion, prevent monsoon related disruptions and ease pressure on the Nallagandla RoB.
