Lockdown Only For Educational Institutions: Tamilisai
Warangal Rural: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan emphasised on need of understanding for innovations and spoke about the need of spreading technology to the deprived sections of the society as they contribute the major chunk of the students.
Addressing the inaugural session of a three-day virtual international conference on ‘Innovations for New Normal’ being organised by Government Degree College (GDC), Parkal, on Sunday, she also opined that ‘lockdown is only for the institutions and not for learning.’ She quoted the instances of students sitting on the branches and roofs for want of an internet facility.
Commissioner of Collegiate Education (CCE), Navin Mittal appreciated the efforts of the faculty for making the best use of technology in engaging online classes during lockdown. He spoke about the initiations being undertaken by the Collegiate Education in the State to bring transformations in the system.
Giving a detailed account of the conference, GDC, Parkal, Principal, Dr D T Chary has stated that they had received about 120 research papers from eminent scholars across the world for publication and presentation. Prof Girijashankar Malik from Western Sydney University, Australia, presented the keynote address at the conference.
Prof Srinivas Gunta attended as the guest of honour. The inaugural session lasted for about an hour. Dr Mallam Naveen, the Coordinator of the Conference, expressed his gratitude to all the guests and the technical personnel involved in the successful conduct of the session.
