Lok Sabha Polls: Hyderabad Police Seized Rs. 22.5 Crore Cash So Far

Hyderabad, May 8 (Maxim News): District Election Officer Ronald Rose announced that enforcement teams in the Hyderabad district have seized a total of Rs.22,50,97,312  in cash, along with goods worth Rs. 17,93,97,270 and 26,832.805 liters of liquor as part of their efforts to uphold the electoral code of conduct during the parliamentary elections.

He reported that 297 individuals have been charged and 294 arrested for illegal activities related to liquor.

In the last 24 hours alone, two cases were registered, resulting in the arrest of one individual and the confiscation of Rs. 28,43,735 in cash, goods valued at Rs. 5,55,605, and 33.50 liters of liquor.

Furthermore, Ronald Rose disclosed that 14 election-related complaints were received and resolved, with FIRs lodged against six individuals.

Flying Squad Teams, in coordination with other police authorities and the IT department, have collected a substantial amount totaling Rs. 5,91,28,955 in cash and goods valued at Rs. 3,57,78,042.

Additionally, other police units seized items worth 16 crore Rs. 29,74,117 while the SST Teams confiscated Rs. 29,94,240 in cash and goods worth 77 lakh rupees. In total 632 election-related cases have been filed and resolved, with 406 FIRs registered.

Ronald Rose noted that 46 complaints concerning election violations have been addressed with appropriate action taken against offenders. (Maxim News)
