Hyderabad, May 2 (Maxim News): LRS 2020 Help Desks have been established across GHMC circle offices to assist citizens and speed up application clearance. The government has also extended the 25 percent rebate on LRS charges for three more months.
The extension follows the issuance of GO Ms No 131 dated April 29, 2026. Accordingly, applicants can now avail the rebate from May 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026. Earlier, the benefit was available only till May 31, 2025 under GO Ms No 28.
Officials said the rebate applies to regularisation charges and pro rata open space charges. However, the rebate does not apply if open space charges are paid later during building permission.
LRS 2020 Help Desks aim to speed up approvals
Meanwhile, GHMC has launched a 99 day action plan to clear pending LRS applications. Therefore, authorities have set up help desks and call centres in all circle offices.
These help desks will function from 10 am to 6 pm on working days. Dedicated staff from the Town Planning Wing will assist applicants. In addition, each circle office will display banners for easy identification.
The help desks will provide several services. They will guide citizens on application status and approvals. They will also clarify document requirements and payment issues. Moreover, staff will assist applicants in accessing the LRS portal.
Officials said special drives and melas will also be conducted. These initiatives aim to resolve pending applications quickly and improve citizen support.
The Special Chief Secretary for Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development directed officials to ensure smooth implementation. As a result, GHMC Commissioner instructed deputy commissioners to set up the system without delay.
Citizens in GHMC limits can visit their nearest circle office for assistance. They can also use the opportunity to avail the 25 percent rebate within the deadline.
Overall, the initiative seeks to simplify the LRS process. It also aims to ensure faster regularisation of plots under LRS 2020.(Maxim News)
