LRS | Hyderabad: The government has announced a crucial decision regarding the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS), allowing the registration of plots that have been pending for the past four years.
As part of this initiative, a 25% discount on the LRS fee will be available for registrations completed by March 31.
To facilitate the process, the government has permitted direct payment of the regularization fee at Sub-Registrar offices. Those who finalize their registrations by the deadline will benefit from the discounted fee.
LRS implementation
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Sridhar Babu, and Chief Secretary Shanthikumari, conducted a review meeting on this issue on Wednesday.
He directed officials to expedite the LRS implementation and resolve pending applications swiftly.
Previously, the government had restricted the registration of plots in unauthorized layouts, preventing buyers from registering their purchases for the past four years. Now, in a bid to provide relief, the government has eased these restrictions, enabling plot registrations for both individual buyers and unsold plots in layouts.

For instance, if only 10% of the plots in a layout were registered, the remaining 90% can now be regularized and registered under LRS. Additionally, those with existing sale deeds will receive a fee concession if they complete their registrations by March 31.
“The poor have been waiting for LRS applications to be resolved for four years. They should take advantage of this opportunity provided by the government,” the ministers stated.
Officials were instructed to ensure proper scrutiny of plots on prohibited lands while implementing the scheme.
Citizens were encouraged to complete their registrations at Sub-Registrar offices efficiently, without unnecessary delays in government offices.
Chief Secretary Shanthakumari, Principal Secretary, Finance Department Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary, Municipal Urban Development Dana Kishore, Principal Secretary, Revenue Naveen Mittal, Principal Secretary, Industries Department Jayesh Ranjan, Commissioner of Stamps and Registration Buddha Prakash Jyoti, Managing Director, Housing Gautam and others participated in this meeting.
