Make Dignified Debates: Pocharam Tells ZP Chiefs

Hyderabad, July 5 (Maxim News): Speaker P Srinivas Reddy today exhorted the newly elected members of zilla parishads and mandal parishads to maintain dignity in running the House and put in continuous efforts to implement schemes.

Along with Minister V Prashanth Reddy and MLA, Bajireddy Goverdhan, MLC BG Goud, Akula Lalitha and others, the Speaker attended the oath-taking by D Vithal as zilla parishad Chairman in Nizamabad district. The Collector administered oath of office to him in the meeting. All the new leaders should work with sportsman spirit and deliver the goods to the people on time, he said.

The Speaker said, “While the State government has been implementing several schemes and programs, now it was the turn of the newly elected leaders to take responsibility for implementing the same”, Srinivas Reddy said. He appealed to them to make better debates and avoid confusion or differences and win the hearts of the people. The Speaker said local bodies will get more powers and funds to implement developmental programs in the State.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on developing the mandals and districts by active involvement of the leaders of local bodies, he said, adding that the SRSP project will strengthen the Irrigation sector and push the farm activity to increase more produce. “Let us work together to serve the people”, he added.
