Guwahati/Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News): Police have arrested a man who had made a statement saying that he would kill Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma if he was given Rs 1 crore and asked him to contact his cell number. The Assam Police have revealed that they have arrested his father and brother along with another person. They said that the three were taken into custody in Morigaon district on Saturday night. They explained that the case was investigated based on the cell number announced on social media for the murder of CM Sharma. During the investigation, it was said that the number was in the name of Abdul Mutaleb. He said that he earns a living as a tailor by profession.
On Friday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the people of the state live in Khanapara, Guwahati, to mark the 80th Independence Day. On this occasion, he announced that he would assassinate the Assam CM. He revealed that he would do it if he was given one crore rupees. He announced on social media that his cell number should be provided for that. At the same time, he raised slogans in favor of Pakistan and against India. With this, the matter came to the attention of higher authorities.
With that, the Bhuragaon police stepped in and started an investigation. On this occasion, an investigation was conducted based on the cell number on social media and Abdul Mutaleb was arrested. Later, the police arrested his father and brother along with another person. The police are interrogating all of them. Did Abdul Mutaleb alone make this statement? Or was there someone else behind it? The investigation was being conducted from the perspective of the police. The police said that the investigation into the allegations of threats made on social media is ongoing.
