Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A man was booked for allegedly assaulting an army man’s mother at Mutthampet village in Koutala mandal on Tuesday.
Koutala Sub-Inspector Anjaneyulu said the accused was Kamalakar Prakash Rao, a resident of Muthampet village, and the complaint Gadireddy Nagamma, mother of Srinivas, a soldier in the Indian Army.
Prakash picked up an argument with Nagaamma over the rights of a house site in which the woman has been residing for the past 30 years. He beat her up with a stick when she refused to vacate the property, resulting in injuries. Locals extended solidarity with the family of the army man and demanded action against Prakash for assaulting the woman.
Based on a complaint filed by Nagamma, a case was registered against Prakash. Investigations are under way.
