Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police have detained a man for allegedly sexually assaulting his 12-year-old daughter over a period of time.
According to police, the girl contacted Dial 112 on Thursday night after her father allegedly attempted to sexually assault her.
Girl Alerts Police Through Dial 112
Following the alert, the police control room informed Chandrayangutta police personnel, who immediately reached the family’s residence.
The girl subsequently came out of the house and accompanied the police to the station. Based on her complaint, officers detained the accused near Chandrayangutta crossroads.
During the preliminary inquiry, the girl reportedly told police that her father had been sexually assaulting her for some time. She also alleged that he threatened and intimidated family members to prevent them from speaking about the matter.
Police are now recording statements from the girl’s mother and other witnesses as part of the investigation.
Authorities are also collecting further details to establish the circumstances and duration of the alleged abuse. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
