MANUU Celebrates 74th Republic Day

Hyderabad, January 26: Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today unfurled the tricolor at the University campus.

Prof. Ainul Hasan in his brief Republic Day message while quoting a patriotic song ‘Kar chale ham fida jaan-o-tan saathiyon…” advised the youth of India to come forward and take the responsibilities as we are law-abiding citizens of India. We should not forget the contribution and sacrifices made by our soldiers. For the sake of their voices let us pledge to carry forward our legacy and will say Jai Hind and this voice will go across the barriers, across the boundaries, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor also distributed prizes among the winners of the rangoli competition which was held on the occasion of the Sankranti festival as part of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The team – J Jyothi, G. Sudha Rani & C. Archana won first prize. The second prize goes to team Jyothi Easter, N Sunita Reddy, Babitha Rathod, Zarina Sulthana, Hajira Mumtaz Begum & Nasreen Fatima whereas Parbin Naj, Husna Parveen & Heena Parveen stood in third position. Prof. M. Vanaja, Director, Directorate of Admissions judged the rangoli competition. The prizes were also distributed to winners of short video & poster-making competitions held during vigilance awareness week. The first three winners of the short video competition were Zaid Afreen, Afifa Zareen, and Amir Azam. Ayesha Anjum was the winner of the Poster making competition whereas Nargis Fatima and Hasrat Nawas stood in second and third positions.

Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD-I, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, OSD-II, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, and Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor attended the function.

Earlier, MANUU Sub-Unit NCC cadets & Proctorial team escorted Prof. Ainul Hasan and participated in the Republic day parade. Parade preparations were carried out under the supervision of One Telangana Artillery Battery NCC Unit.

Dr Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain, Associate Professor, Dept. of Education & Training led the students in presenting the National Anthem and patriotic songs.

Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Public Relations Officer I/c convened the program. Under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Chairman, of the committee, Mr. B. Bikshapati, Programme Officer, NSS Cell, Dr. Danish Khan, and others look after the arrangements. Lieutenant Mohd. Abdul Mujeeb, Associate NCC Officer, MANUU NCC Sub Unit supervised the MANUU NCC cadets. The Instructional Media Centre of MANUU live-streamed the program on the IMC MANUU youtube channel.

The faculty members, officers, a large number of students, and other staff were also present.
