A tragic accident occurred in Hyderabad’s Gachibowli area on Friday, claiming the life of a mason and leaving another critically injured. The incident took place when a bamboo scaffolding suddenly collapsed at an under-construction building, causing both workers to fall from the fourth floor.

According to reports, two masons, identified as Chandrakumar (33) and Jamanna alias Vicky (23), were working at an under-construction site located in Raghavendra Colony, Kondapur. They were engaged in elevation designing works when the structure fell apart, leading to the deadly fall.

“The bamboo scaffolding broke down and two people fell on the ground from the fourth floor. Chandrakumar died on the spot due to the impact while Vicky suffered injuries and was rushed to hospital,” said the Gachibowli police. The police added that they have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the death of the mason has sparked concern over safety measures at construction sites across Hyderabad. Workers in high-rise projects often rely on bamboo scaffolding, which can pose severe risks if not properly maintained or supported. The accident once again highlights the urgent need for stronger safety protocols in ongoing building projects in fast-developing urban areas like Gachibowli and Kondapur.
