Istanbul/Internet/Hyderabad, Oct 28 (Maxim News): A major earthquake has struck western Turkey. The magnitude was recorded as 6.1. It occurred at 10.48 pm at a depth of 5.99 km
Media reports indicate that some buildings have been damaged. There are no reports of casualties at this time. The epicenter of the earthquake was identified as the town of Sindirgi in Balikesir province. The earthquake was fet in cities such as Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa and Izmir.
Turkey is one of the countries most affected by earthquakes. It is located between three major seismic tectonic plates, which makes it prone to frequent earthquakes. A 7.8magnitude earthquake in 2023 killed more than 53,000 people. The FAD said that earthquakes are likely to occur again tomorrow.
