Massive Earthquake Shook Istanbul City In Turkey Measuring 6.02 On Richter Scale
Hyderabad, April 23 (Maxim News). Another major earthquake has struck. People ran for their lives from their homes to the streets. The earth shook in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday. A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.02 struck. it was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ). buildings collapsed due to this massive earthquake. Videos and photos related to it have gone viral.
According to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the earthquake was centered in the Sea of Marmara in Istanbul.
According to Turkey’s AFAD disaster agency, it was one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the city of 16 million people in recent years. AFAD said the quake struck at 12.49 pm (0949 GMT) in the Silivri region, about 80 km (50 miles) east of Istanbul. AZFAD said the epicenter was at a depth of 6.92 km (4.3 miles)
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said disaster and emergency management teams have begun the process of assessing the impact of the earthquakes. This was followed by several aftershocks with a magnitude of 5.3. The disaster and emergency management agency urged residents to stay away from buildings. Reports said the earthquake was also felt in other areas. Many people ran out of their homes in fear. ( Maxim News)
