Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at Thrissur railway station in Kerala, gutting more than 200 two wheelers parked at the station. The fire erupted in the two wheeler parking area near platform number 2 early on Sunday morning. The incident caused panic among railway officials, passengers, and nearby residents due to thick smoke and fast spreading flames.
According to the input, the fire broke out at around 6.30 am. Flames spread quickly because petrol was present in the parked two wheelers. Thick smoke rose from the parking area and was visible from a distance. As a result, passengers waiting at the station, railway staff, and people living nearby were alarmed. However, officials moved quickly to manage the situation and alert emergency services.
Meanwhile, fire crews rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported. They arrived with fire engines and began efforts to control the blaze. Firefighters worked continuously for about half an hour before bringing the massive fire under control. After the flames were doused, officials assessed the damage. It was then confirmed that more than 200 two wheelers parked at the railway station were completely burnt.
Later, authorities began investigating the cause of the massive fire. Officials said they are examining CCTV footage from the area to understand how the fire started. However, no conclusion has been shared so far. Railway officials also clarified that train services were not affected by the incident. Trains continued to operate as scheduled, despite the panic caused earlier by the fire and smoke.
Meanwhile, a video clip showing the massive fire in the parking area of Thrissur railway station has gone viral on social media. The visuals show thick smoke and burning vehicles, which further drew public attention to the incident. Officials continue to focus on the investigation while ensuring safety at the station. Further details are expected once the probe progresses.
