Massive Plantation Drive In Educational Institutes: Srihari
Hyderabad, June 21 (Maxim News): Deputy Chief Minister, Kadiam Srihari today called upon the educational institutions to take up massive plantation drive during fourth phase in July and offered to get grace marks to the students for participation. “We plan to make intensive the green drive in curriculum and involve educational institutions.
Along with Forest and BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna, Srihari said green drive will be taken up from school level to universities and the slogan “Swatcha School-Haritha School” (Clean School-Green School). Srihari said the students should participate in the program voluntarily and compete for protecting the saplings besides plantation for better environment and conducive atmosphere. It was decided to offer grace marks to the students for their participation in green drive.
Srihari asked all the educational institutes to conduct Swatch School-Haritha School program every month and awareness among the students right from the primary to University level on environment issues he said. It will be added in education curriculum as one of the subjects for all classes and involve students to become green brigades. He instructed the forest and Panchayat Raj wings to take steps to protect the saplings planted. Give priority to plant saplings of fruits, flower and shade in all the educational institutions and that of rainbow colours at the compounds. A related meeting will be conducted in 10 days to chalk out the program, he added. (Maixm News)
