Massive security arrangements made for Munugodu by-election: CP Mahesh Bhagwat

Hyderabad, Nov.2 (NSS): Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat today said they have made massive security arrangements for Wednesday’s polling in Munugodu by-election.

Speaking to media persons, Mahesh M Bhagwat said they had identified 35 sensitive areas in the constituency and added that they had also identified areas which are prone to violence while noting that special arrangements have been made with Central paramilitary forces and local Police.

The CP said they had roped in the services of 2000 police personnel for the making the security arrangements in the constituency. He said every polling station would have nine police personnel and added that they would also put in place CC TV surveillance. He said the special police checkposts would be continued till the completion of the election.

He said they had bound over all those, who resorted to violence in the last Assembly elections and added that they had seized ₹4 crore in the constituency so far.

The CP said the polling would be held from 7 am to 6 pm. A total of 2,41,855 voters will cast their votes in the by-election. The officials of the Election Commission distributed poll material to the polling staff on Wednesday at Don Bosco School in Chandur. (NSS)
