MA&UD Minister KTR Initiates Household Sanitation Drive

Hyderabad,Sept 10(Maxim News): To prevent the spread of seasonal diseases in the city, MA&UD Minister KTR initiated cleanliness drive from his residence at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad. Minister appealed to public representatives, officials and citizens to take part in this massive drive to prevent the spread of seasonal and vector-borne diseases.

Minister KTR gave a call for mass sanitation drive after conducting a review meeting with the GHMC and Health department officials on Monday at GHMC office in Hyderabad. Health Minister Eatala Rajender also participated in the meeting.

Today Minister KTR inspected the premises around his residence, at Pragathi Bhavan and took up cleanliness drive. He drained the stagnated water out of the containers and sprayed oil at the base of the water fountains.

Minister stated that awareness should be created amongst the people on seasonal diseases. The government is implementing mass awareness drive on war footing to educate people on seasonal diseases and help them take precautionary measures, he added.

“The GHMC is taking care of sanitation in public spaces and at the same time, every citizen should take care of cleanliness in and around their houses. Domestic sanitation is very important in eradicating seasonal diseases,” said Minister KTR.

Minister highlighted the importance of citizens’ participation in the drive and called for their support in controlling the outbreak. Minister asked people to take precautions by cleaning water tanks, sumps, water drums, coolers, and other water storage equipment in their houses.

Minister KTR directed Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and GHMC officials to intensify the awareness programs amongst the people and take up mass campaigns in educational institutions like schools and colleges, and also in slums, residential colonies, and apartments.(Maxim News)
