MDMA drug | Hyderabad, April 2 (Maxim News): The SOT LB Nagar Zone team along with the Nagole Police of the Malkajgiri Commissionerate busted an MDMA drug peddling racket and arrested two persons.
Police seized 25.65 grams of MDMA during the operation and registered a case under Crime No.196/2026 at Nagole Police Station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
The accused were identified as Junaid Raza Siddiqui (36), a sales manager from Toli Chowki, and Sunil Subba alias Johny (29), a bartender and chef residing in Bandlaguda.
Police said both were friends and had earlier run a restaurant in Sun City. According to investigators, they allegedly entered the drug trade to earn easy money.
MDMA drug
Acting on credible information on April 1, police teams intercepted the suspects at Nagole X Road while they were travelling on two Honda Activa scooters.
During the search conducted in the presence of mediators, police found MDMA packets concealed inside the vehicle storage compartments. The accused were immediately taken into custody.
Police seized the banned MDMA drug weighing 25.65 grams, three mobile phones, cash worth ₹5,190, two Honda Activa vehicles and a small weighing machine. The total value of the seized property was estimated at ₹3.61 lakh. The accused were later produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
During interrogation, police found that the accused were allegedly selling MDMA to local customers. The drug was reportedly supplied by Mohammed Ansar and Raju, who sourced it from Himachal Pradesh.
Both the suspected suppliers are currently absconding and special teams are trying to trace them. Further investigation is underway.
Police officials said the successful operation reflects their continued focus on curbing drug trafficking in the city. They also appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share information about drug-related activities to help control the menace.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, IPS, along with senior officers of the SOT and LB Nagar Zone. (Maxim News)
