Hyderabad: Hyderabad remained among the hottest cities as temperatures rose across Telangana, with several districts crossing 41°C on Saturday. While the city stayed slightly cooler, it showed a steady upward trend in daytime heat levels.
According to the India Meteorological Department Hyderabad, Endapalli in Jagtial district recorded 41.7°C, the highest in the state. Khammam, Mulugu, Nalgonda and Nirmal also reported temperatures above 40°C during the day.
Hyderabad Among Hottest Cities Sees Rising Heat Trend
The India Meteorological Department said dry weather will continue across Telangana over the next week. Temperatures may rise by 2 to 3°C in the coming days. However, no weather warnings have been issued so far.
Statewide, the average maximum temperature reached 39.5°C, which is 0.8°C above normal. Several districts reported above normal readings, indicating a gradual rise in heat conditions.
In Hyderabad, temperatures remained lower than other districts. Asifnagar recorded around 38.8°C. Across the city, most areas reported temperatures between 37.6°C and 38.7°C.
The department forecast that city temperatures could reach 39°C to 40°C over the next two days. Skies may remain partly cloudy, while mornings could see hazy conditions.
Data from Telangana Development Planning Society showed faster temperature increases in northern and eastern districts compared to Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, a daily heat tracker report noted that seven cities, including Hyderabad, recorded above normal daytime temperatures. Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru also saw increases, while Chennai reported a high night temperature of 28.5°C.
With dry conditions continuing, heat levels are expected to rise further across Telangana, especially in districts already crossing 40°C.
