Hyderabad, August 11: DC has recorded a strong opening weekend at the Indian box office, with the Arun Matheswaran directorial reportedly collecting ₹20.95 crore net in its first three days.
The action drama stars Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. According to trade estimates, the film earned around ₹9.55 crore net in India on Sunday, its third day.
The film had reportedly collected around ₹7 crore net on Saturday. With Sunday’s earnings added, its three-day India net collection has reached approximately ₹20.95 crore.
Its India gross collection is estimated at around ₹24.11 crore. The film has also recorded a notable performance in overseas markets.
DC Box Office Collection Day 3 Shows Strong Weekend Performance
The Tamil version emerged as the biggest contributor to the DC box office collection in India. It reportedly earned around ₹6.60 crore net on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Telugu version collected approximately ₹2.30 crore net. The Hindi version contributed around ₹65 lakh to the day’s earnings.
The film also earned an estimated ₹2.25 crore in overseas markets on its third day. Its overseas gross collection has reportedly reached around ₹7.75 crore.
Combining domestic and overseas earnings, DC has recorded an estimated worldwide gross collection of ₹31.86 crore after three days.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has also attracted attention for his acting debut. He plays the character Devadas in the film after establishing himself primarily as a filmmaker.
His performance has received positive reactions from audiences, while Wamiqa Gabbi has also been appreciated for her portrayal of Chandra. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy plays Parvathi in the action drama.
With a healthy opening weekend, DC will now look to maintain its momentum during the weekdays. Its performance over the next few days will determine whether the film can sustain its theatrical run.
