Hyderabad, Jan.17 (Maxim News): State Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao said GHMC has to be divided for decentralization of powers and better implementation of development schemes.
He slammed rival Congress and the BJP alleging that the two parties had formed a nexus to win in the upcoming municipal polls.
Decentralization of powers is key for speedy development in the GHMC area he said during an informal chit chat with media persons in the city here. “It is my personal opinion that the GHMC has to be divided and the government has nothing to do with it he said. The municipal minister also reasoned that decentralization of powers will push growth to a new high. It is possible only through division of the civic body,” he felt.
KTR also said that powers were already decentralized through formation of new districts. If people of the state vote for us in the municipal polls, the TRS will focus for four years on development in urban local bodies. It is a challenge for the government to implement the new municipal act, he said. The minister criticized that the opposition parties were lacking candidates for the municipal polls and resorting to bad campaign on the ruling party.
He denied alliance with the party’s ally MIM in the elections. Despite their false campaign the TRS will sweep the elections he asserted while noting that the rebels are coming to line and opposition parties like BJP is supporting them for mileage. (Maxim News)
