Minister Ponnam Prabhakar At The BC Welfare Department Review Zoom Meeting
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (Maxim News): BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has ordered that the staff should work with the goal of every student’s development and that children should be well and everyone should work responsibly. He warned that action would be taken if there was negligence in providing basic facilities and food to students.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar made several suggestions in a Zoom meeting with the BC Welfare Secretary, Commissioner, MJP Gurukula Society Secretary, RCO, principals, and district officials. He ordered that uniforms, trunks, and bedding materials to be given to students from the next academic year should be ready by the time they join the Gurukula. He suggested that attention should be paid to every student and special attention should be paid to those who are lagging in their studies. He said that efforts have been made to improve the BC Welfare Department, which has been neglected for a decade, for the past year and congratulated the officials who are supporting the programs being carried out by the government. He warned that they should work smart and be responsible in keeping with the changing times, that if there is any problem, they should consider it as a member of their family and bring it to his attention, and that he would not tolerate any negligence in the work assigned to them. He expressed his concern that for the future of the students, everyone should be responsible and that no matter how many precautions are taken, some undesirable incidents can happen, which is heartbreaking. He suggested that there should be no compromise in the provision of basic food facilities for the students, that meals should be provided as per the changed menu, and that RCOs and district officials should conduct frequent inspections. The Minister emphasized that special study hours should be organized for Gurukul and hostel students during the examination period, that teachers should work hard to achieve better results, and that special attention should be paid to the backward students. As part of the National Road Safety Month, he suggested that all Gurukuls should be made aware of road safety. He suggested that meals should be provided according to the new menu changed as part of the common diet, and that necessary cooking utensils and food ingredients should be purchased for it. He suggested that precautions should be taken regarding quality and frequent inspections should be carried out.
He warned that these three months are very important and that negligence will not be tolerated. The Minister reminded that if there are minor repairs in educational institutions located in rented buildings, the building owners should be asked to do them, and that they have recently been paid half of the rent. If anyone does not provide the necessary basic facilities to the students, they should look for other buildings. He suggested that the buildings with problems should be vacated by the Sankranthi festival and converted into new buildings.
He said that government lands should be examined so that they can be converted from rented buildings to their buildings. He said that any problems in Gurukul educational institutions should be brought to his attention and that the government should be concerned about the welfare of the students. He suggested that students should be groomed by providing better infrastructure and maintaining high educational standards. They should submit monthly reports on the purchase, storage, quality of food items, students’ health, education, etc.

All federations should prepare an action plan. He said that the government is committed to the development of BCs and budget allocation has been made accordingly. The minister suggested that an action plan should be prepared to strengthen BCs financially and a plan should be prepared for the advancement of BC communities under the auspices of the federations. He said that the Katamayya kit designed for Toddy Toppers has been provided to ten thousand people so far and that we are ready to provide it to another ten thousand people, and those in need should apply. The free electricity scheme being provided under the auspices of Nai Brahmana and Rajaka Federation will continue as usual, and the minister suggested to the secretary to write a letter to the electricity department so that no one is inconvenienced. The beneficiaries of the Vishwakarma scheme should be identified. The Minister suggested that the central government should create awareness about the Vishwakarma scheme, which provides financial assistance to caste workers through MSMEs, and identify 35,000 beneficiaries from each district. He congratulated the Nalgonda district officer who has processed 33,000 applications so far. The officers of the other districts should quickly identify the beneficiaries. He warned that an increment will be cut for those who lag in creating awareness about this scheme. BC Welfare Department Secretary Sridhar, Commissioner Bala Mayadevi, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Gurukul Educational Institutions Secretary Badugu Saidulu, Joint Secretary Tirupati, Maddileti, other senior officials, RCOs, principals, and district officials participated in this meeting.
