Ministers hold review meeting ahead of Moharram
Hyderabad, Aug 1 (Maxim News): Minister for Minorities Welfare Koppula Eshwar and Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali held a review meeting on Moharram arrangements at DSS Bhavan, Masab Tank in Hyderabad.
Addressing at the meeting, the ministers said that Muharram ceremonies were not allowed last year due to the Corona epidemic. Events were arranged in a limited way. In particular, elephant processions and arrangements were not arranged. However, no restrictions have been imposed this year, so Muharram will be held this year as per the tradition.
The Ministers assured the representatives of Shia organizations that arrangements would be made by the State government during all Muharram ceremonies. Adviser to the Govt. AK Khan reviewed the preparations of the departments of Police, Health and Medicine, Fire Services, Water, Electricity, Municipalities and others.
Officials from Shiite organizations have called for a significant increase in Muharram funds to make arrangements easier. The Minister for Minority Welfare asked to increase the budget of Muharram to Rs. 50 lakhs, on which Waqf Board Chairman Muhammad Saleem announced a budget of Rs. 50 lakhs.
Yaqutpura MLA Ahmad Pasha Qadri and MLC Riyaz ul Hassan Effandi also expressed their views and made suggestions for better arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Waqf Board Chief Executive Officer Shahnawaz Qasim, Central Waqf Council member Hanif Ali, State Waqf Board member Dr Nisar Agha, leaders of various Shia organizations and others.
