Minority Welfare Day: Honors Azad Reporter Abu Aimal with Lifetime Award
- Revanth Reddy-led government presents first award in Digital Media category
Minority Welfare Day | Hyderabad, Nov. 11: Minority Welfare Day was celebrated on Tuesday at Ravindra Bharathi, organized by the Telangana Urdu Academy.
The highlight of the event was the conferring of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Digital Media category to Mohammed Akram Ali, also known as Azad Reporter Abu Aimal.
This recognition marks a milestone, as it is the first time a Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented in the Digital Media category in Telangana.
The move by the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government has been viewed as a remarkable acknowledgment of the growing impact of digital journalism and online media platforms in shaping information and awareness.
The award honors Mohammed Akram Ali for his dedicated contribution and long-standing service to digital media, appreciating his consistent efforts toward promoting Urdu language and culture through modern platforms.
Minority Welfare Day
The award, presented by Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin, consists of a memento, a citation, and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Advisor for Minorities Welfare Md Ali Shabbir, Secretary of Minorities Welfare Department B. Shafiullah, President of Urdu Academy Taher Bin Hamdan, Chairman of the Haj Committee Khurso Pasha, and Chairman of CMFC Deepak John.
Dr. Mohd Safiullah, Director and Secretary of TGUA, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director of CEDM and Program Convenor and Assistant Director of Urdu Academy V. Krishna, were also present.
Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin, General Secretary of the Digital Media Publishers and Broadcasters Federation congratulated Mohd Akram Ali on receiving the award and welcomed the government’s initiative to recognize the contributions of digital media.
The event celebrated individuals contributing to the promotion of Urdu and minority welfare.
The Telangana Urdu Academy announced that it will continue recognizing achievers in emerging fields, especially digital and online platforms, to inspire new generations.
