The department has expressed serious concern over the lack of accountability within the Haj Committee. Officials noted that an absence of regular audits at the Haj Committee has allowed these discrepancies to persist. With the next Haj camp approaching, the Secretary has emphasized that administrative negligence will no longer be tolerated.

Further reports indicate significant spending on the accommodation and travel of the Central Haj Committee delegation during their recent visit.

The State Haj Committee allegedly spent Rs 6 lakhs on hotel stays despite the availability of rooms at the Hajj House. Sources claim the delegation stayed at a hotel within walking distance but was provided with four cars at a cost of Rs 18 lakhs.

The delay in taking action is being attributed to the multiple administrative positions held by the current in-charge EO. This heavy workload has reportedly stalled the commencement of essential training camps for pilgrims. No orientation sessions have been conducted so far, leaving many pilgrims without guidance on necessary rituals.
