Hyderabad: Miyapur police safely reunited a missing five year old boy with his parents within hours on Sunday. The quick action brought relief to the family and highlighted alert patrolling by local police staff. Officials said the child went missing while playing outside his home in Miyapur.

According to Miyapur Inspector Shiva Prasad, the child, Siddharth, is the son of Rajesh and a resident of New Colony, Miyapur. He wandered away from his house while playing outside. Later, he walked nearly a kilometre and could not find his way back home. Meanwhile, his parents searched for him in nearby areas but failed to locate him. Therefore, they began preparing to approach the police to lodge a missing complaint.

During routine patrolling, police personnel noticed the young boy standing alone. He appeared lost and unattended. The officers immediately took him into their care. They ensured his safety and comfort before beginning efforts to trace his family. Police then started checking nearby localities and gathering information to identify the child and his parents. Meanwhile, officers remained with the boy to ensure he stayed safe.

“After making efforts for nearly two hours to trace his family, the police successfully located his parents and handed the boy over to them safely,” the officer said. Police later contacted the parents and asked them to reach the station. After proper verification, they reunited the child with his family. The entire process was completed within a short time.

The parents expressed happiness and relief after seeing their son safe. They appreciated the prompt response and alertness of the Miyapur police. They said the police acted quickly and responsibly at a time of great stress for the family. Later, they thanked the officers for ensuring their child’s safety and returning him unharmed.

Police officials said such incidents highlight the importance of public awareness and vigilance. They also stressed the role of routine patrolling in preventing harm to vulnerable persons, especially children.
