MLC Kavitha Got Temporary Relief In The Liquor Scam Case

Delhi/Hyderabad, July 28 (Maxim News):  The Supreme Court accepted the plea of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and BRS MLC Kavitha.  the bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaur clarified that it will consider whether the woman can be called to the Enforcement Directorate office for questioning.  

The Supreme Court has issued directions to the ED to file a counter within six weeks on Kavitha’s petition.  After that, Kavita was instructed to file a rejoinder within two weeks. 

Senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohatgi argued for Kavita.  Telangana Additional Advocate General J.Ramachander Rao attended the hearing.  Earlier, Kavitha had filed a petition in the Supreme Court that it was illegal to call the woman to the office for questioning.  However, the High Court, which has been postponing the hearing on this issue, has taken up the latest hearing.  

It is known that CBI and ED have interrogated Kavitha several times after charges were brought against her in the Delhi Liquor Scam case.  Kavitha, who attended the hearing with old phones, wrote a letter to ED officer Jogendra.  She surrendered the old phones to the ED and tried to make allegations against the ED.  She said in the letter that although ED is acting maliciously against her, she is submitting the phones she used in the past.  Does seizing a woman’s phone violate her right to privacy? questioned.  At that time, the woman was called to the office and she strongly objected to being interrogated.   A petition was also filed in the Supreme Court.  The news that she will be arrested during the investigation has been doing the rounds. Investigating agencies have made several charges that Kavitha met the accused.  (Maxim News)
