Modi Promises to Transform Amaravati as a Role Model in Country
Guntur, Feb.10 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday promised to transform Amaravati, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh state, into a role model in the entire country. He also promised to develop the city as a heritage city.
Modi made these remarks while addressing a public meeting at Guntur district held as part of his visit to the Telugu speaking state. He said Amaravati had a rich cultural heritage, and claimed that the Center had dedicated several of its development projects worth crores of rupees to the nation by recognizing its importance. He said that they were also building several projects to prevent scarcity of petroleum projects at different parts of the country. Modi said that they had launched a petroleum project at Vizag city and added that they had also launched other projects on behalf of ONGC at Krishna and Godavari basins. He also said that they had taken up construction of Krishnapatnam port and added that the project would provide employment to thousands of people of the state. He said that they had taken up north eastern gas project in Asam in order to transform the area into a petroleum hub.
Speaking further Modi claimed that his government had developed pollution- free institutions while adding that several cities of the country would become a part of this revolution in the next few years. He said that the Center has given domestic gas connections to 6.25 crore families of the country under PM Ujwala scheme, and said that his predecessors had given only 12 crore gas connections during the last 50 years in the country.
Commenting on opposition political parties, Modi alleged that those who did not care for women and the people of their country were attacking him and his government. He alleged that AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had formed a grand alliance only to attack him continuously. He also alleged that Naidu, who claimed to change the face of the state had now taken a u-turn on the issue. He mocked that Naidu was now struggling to keep his party intact instead of focusing on the Development of the state capital. He alleged that the TDP Chief was only trying to ensure the rise of his son in politics instead of keeping his Sunrise State slogan alive. Modi alleged that Naidu had stuck his pictures for schemes belonging to him (Centre) and claiming them as his own. (Maxim News)
