More Than 10,000 New Corona Cases Reported in Telangana
The State witnessed its highest single-day surge of infections and fatalities, with authorities reporting 10,122 positive cases and 52 fatalities
Hyderabad, April 27: Telangana on Monday had the Covid cases recording a major surge crossing the 10,000 mark for the first time and single-day deaths going beyond 50.

The cumulative number of active cases in the State has now reached 69,221 of which 20, 238 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals and 48, 983 positive cases are in home isolation or institutional care.

With 10,122 positive cases in a single day, for the first time since the pandemic, the positivity rate in Telangana, which is defined as the percentage of people who test positive for Covid virus out of the overall number of persons who were tested, is at 10.15 percent.
The cumulative number of infections has now gone-up to 4, 11, 905 while the total number of fatalities has reached 2094.
Between Sunday and Monday, authorities conducted 99, 638 tests. So far, a total of 1, 26, 66, 312 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 4, 11, 905 have tested positive and 3, 40, 590 persons have recovered.
The impact of the Covid second wave is clearly across the State with officials reporting more than 100 cases in 29 districts. In the last 24-hours, the areas under GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts combined have reported close to 3, 000 cases.
The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 140 from Adilabad, 174 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 1440 from areas under GHMC, 204 from Jagtiyal, 160 from Jangaon, 101 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 78 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 279 from Kamareddy, 369 from Karimnagar, 424 from Khammam, 77 from Komaram Bheem Asifabad, 417 from Mahabubnagar, 202 from Mahabubabad, 195 from Mancherial, 229 from Medak, 751 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 79 from Mulugu, 257 from Nagarkurnool, 469 from Nalgonda, 38 from Narayanpet, 129 from Nirmal, 498 from Nizamabad, 169 from Peddapalli, 225 from Rajanna Siricilla, 621 from Rangareddy, 262 from Sangareddy, 230 from Siddipet, 303 from Suryapet, 281 from Vikarabad, 157 from Wanaparthy, 233 from Warangal Rural, 653 from Warangal Urban and 278 from Yadadri Bhongir.
