Hyderabad, Sept 13 (Maxim News): Most wanted Maoist Sujathakka surrendered before Telangana DGP Jitender today (Saturday). Sujatakka is a member of the Maoist Central Committee. DGP Jitender spoke to the media after Sujathakka surrendered.
“There is no use in talks with the Maoists. The talks held in the past have not yielded any results. Sujatha worked in the banned CPI Maoist party in hiding for 43 years. Sujatha surrendered due to illness. There is a reward of Rs. 25 lakh on her. The entire reward will be given to Sujatha in the form of a DD. We will ensure that she gets all the benefits as part of her rehabilitation. She is married to Mallojula Koteswarao alias Kishanji. Kishanji died in an encounter in November 2011. Sujatha surrendered due to her illness. So far this year, there are 404 UG cadres, four state committee members, one division committee secretary, 8 divisional committee members and 34 area committee members,” said DGP Jitender.
“Currently, there are only 78 people from Telangana in the CPI Maoist. Out of 15 central committee members, 10 are from Telangana. The surrender of Maoists is not that easy. It is not possible for Maoists to surrender in two or three days. If they want to surrender, there is a process. They surrender according to them. Last year, 22 people died in an encounter in Telangana. So far this year, 10 people have died in an encounter in Telangana state. Talks were held in the past too, but no progress was made. In the wake of Operation Kagar, the Maoists are bringing up the proposal for talks to protect them. We have identified 11 people from Telangana in the Telangana committee and 62 from other states. We have identified 73 Maoists in the Telangana committee,” said DGP Jitender. (Maxim News)
