Mother Hacked Two Children To Death With A Knife At Home And Then Committee Suicide 

Hyderabad, April 18 (Maxim News):  A mother who hacked her two children to death with a hunting knife at home and then committed suicide by jumping off the roof of her apartment building has sparked outrage. The question of why the mother committed such a heinous act remains a question that haunts.

According to the details revealed by the police, Gandra Venkateswar Reddy and Tejaswini Reddy 935) are a husband and wife from Sathupally High School Road area in Khammam district. They have children, Ashish Reddy (8) and Harshit Reddy (6). After divorcing his first wife, Tejaswini married Venkateswar for the second time. The couple moved to Hyderabad four years ago. They live in a flat on the second floor of Shasra Mahesh Heights Apartment in Balaji Layout, Gajularamaram. Venkateswar works in the quality control department at Bonthapally Granules India Limited.  His wife, Tejaswini, stays at home and takes care of the children.  

Ashish and Harshit are studying in class two and one at New Era.  The Lead School in Balaji Layout, Gajularamaram.  Tajaswini has been suffering from eye problems for some time.  The elder son, Ashish, is suffering from a lung infection.  He is vomiting at every opportunity.  The younger son, Harshit, also faces the same problem from time to time.  She is getting her elder daughter treated at a private hospital in Begumpet.  She is also searching on Google for the child’s health and taking medicines.

Unable to digest the fact that her children were also falling ill frequently, her mental condition became very bad.  On Thursday evening, at four o’clock, she wrote a 6 page suicide note.  She grabbed Ashish and Harshit, who were playing at home, and indiscriminately attacked them on the neck and other parts of their bodies with a hunting knife she had already brought from outside.  Even though both children were bleeding from injuries and were running into the kitchen and bedroom in fear for their lives, she chased them and caught them and killed them.  Ashish died on the spot in his incident.

Harshit, who was seriously injured and struggling to breathe, died on the way to the hospital.  Meanwhile, Tajaswini committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the apartment.  She died on the spot due to serious injuries sustained in the incident.  It is learnt that the police have recovered Tejaswini’s suicide note from the house.  Tejaswini wrote in the note that she was dying because her children and her husband were not paying attention to her illness and that if she told them about her problems, the three of them would die.  The police have registered a case on the incident.  (Maxim News)
