Hyderabad, May 13 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has once again extended the 25 percent concession on Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) fee. It has issued orders extending the deadline that ended on the 3rd of this month until May 31.
The government, which announced a one-time settlement in February this year, had initially extended the concession on LRS until March 31. Later, it was extended until April 30, and then until May 3. The latest decision has been taken to extend it once again.

It is learnt that the subsidy period is being extended again and again as technical issues, lack of response from the public and other reasons have become obstacles to the implementation of the scheme. 25.67 lakh applications were received under the Layout Regularization Scheme that started in 2020. The authorities have given proceedings to 40 percent of those who paid the LRS fee.
However, only 5.19 lakh people completed the payments by April 30. The Congress government, which had expected a revenue of Rs. 20,000 crore through this scheme, has so far been able to collect only Rs. 1,863 crore. In this context, it is planning to extend the deadline till June to provide an opportunity to more applicants. (Maxim News)
