MP Santosh Promises to Work for UNESCO Tag to Thousand Pillar Temple
Warangal, Sept.10 (Maxim News): TRS MP Joginipalli Santosh Kumar has assured us that he will strive hard to get UNESCO status for Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal.
MP Santosh Kumar along with Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, MLAs Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Aroori Ramesh, Challa Dharma Reddy, and N Narender, MLCs Basvaraju Saraiah and Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy and other TRS leaders visited the famous Bhadrakali temple and offered prayers to the presiding deity. Later, they visited the Rudreshwaralayam located on the premises of Thousand Pillar Temple and took the blessings of the lord Shiva.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Santosh Kumar lamented over the neglected state of the Thousand Pillar temple and criticized the Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) for failing to complete renovation works.
He said the Thousand Pillars temple depicts the engineering marvel of the Kakatiya era and it is a matter of pride to have such a heritage site in Telangana.
“It’s is our responsibility to preserve the heritage site of Thousand Pillar temple and all should work together to bring back its past glory,” Santosh Kumar said.
On the occasion, the TRS MP announced that he would earmark Rs.1 crore every year for the renovation of the Thousand Pillar temple from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) and would strive hard to get the UNESCO tag for the temple in the days to come. (Maxim News)
