Since the term of the current GHMC executive committee ends on February 10, it is expected to issue orders on the same day to divide it into three. New corporations will be formed with the names of Serilingampally, Hyderabad and Malkajgiri. Elections for the new corporations are to be held within six months from February 10. This means that this election process will have to be completed by August.

It is known that the state government has taken many steps to develop the capital city of Hyderabad more rapidly. As part of this, 27 municipalities within the Outer Ring Road were merged into GHMC. At one stage, there was a campaign that GHMC would become the largest municipal corporation in the country.  However, for administrative convenience, the government has decided to divide it into three. It is expected that the boundaries of the police and municipal departments within the capital will be the same for smooth administration. It is known that recently the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates within the capital were reorganized. Along with increasing the area of Hyderabad, Rachakopnda was converted into Malkajgiri.

In addition to these three, another com missionerate has been brought to the fore under the name of Future City Commissionerate. Now the three newly proposed municipal corporations will also be divided in the same way.  It has been decided to set up Serilingampally Corporation in the area under Future City and Cyberabad Commissionerates, Hyderabad Corporation in the area under Hyderabad Commissionerate, and Malkajgiri Corporation in the area under malkajgiri. As part of this, in the recent transfers, IAS officers Vinay Krishna Reddy and Srujan were transferred to GHMC as additional commissioners. It seems that the current GHMC Commissioner Karnan will continue there and Srujan will be transferred to Serilingampalli and Vinay krishna Reddy to Malkajgiri as special commissioners.
