Mumtaz Khan Joining Congress is a Fake News

Mumtaz Khan | Hyderabad, November 6 (Maxim News): Recent speculation surrounding a possible switch to the Congress party by Charminar MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan has been firmly dispelled by the politician himself.

Fake Reports had surfaced suggesting that Khan was on a visit to Delhi, intending to meet Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi to finalize his party membership. Further rumors indicated that Khan might contest from the Yakutpura constituency under the Congress banner, with the possibility of the Majlis Bachao Tehreek not fielding a candidate against him.

Mumtaz Khan Rumors

These rumors stemmed from the Majlis‘ decision to nominate Mir Zulfiqar Ali as its candidate for the Charminar constituency and deciding to field Jaffar Hussain Meraj from Yakutpura constituency in the upcoming Telangana elections, effectively denying Khan a ticket from the party.

However, Khan took to Twitter to address the matter, stating, “Do not trust fake news. I am firmly with my party, AIMIM, and our esteemed leader, Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Khan is on a visit to Delhi, accompanied by a group of his supporters, was fake. He is very much in Hyderabad.

Recently, the MLA’s son Dr. Imtiyaz Khan was booked by Charminar police over the allegations of threatening a party worker in 2021. The father-son duo was recently booked for alleged violation of the poll code when they took out an ‘unauthorized’ rally.

The rumor got its strength from a recent tweet by a congress supporter stating that “AIMIM’s Sitting MLA of Charminar Assembly Constituency, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan will join the Congress in presence of Congress Central leadership. 📌 CONFIRMED.!!”.
