With wide talk that the municipal election notification may be released soon, hopeful candidates have stepped up efforts to secure party tickets.

Aspirants have been assuring party leaders that they will win if given a ticket. Meanwhile, they are also increasing pressure by bringing local leaders, caste association members, and colony elders along with them.

Congress and BJP see intense competition in municipal elections

The ruling Congress party is witnessing stiff competition among aspirants keen to contest municipal elections.

In several municipalities linked to the undivided district, Congress hopefuls are actively working to secure tickets. Their efforts have increased in places where the party sees strong winning chances.

As a result, internal competition within the Congress has intensified.

On the other hand, aspirants are also showing interest in contesting on BJP tickets in municipalities such as Nirmal, Adilabad, Kagaznagar, and Bainsa.

The presence of BJP MLAs in these areas has encouraged more aspirants to come forward. Meanwhile, in municipalities like Mancherial, Chennur, Bellampalli, Laxettipet, Kathanpalli, Naspur, and Khanapur, Congress chairman aspirants have stepped up their efforts.

Overall, political activity has gained momentum across municipalities.
