Municipal Polls: BJP Janasena alliance faces confusion in Telangana
Hyderabd, Feb. 5: The BJP Janasena alliance has run into uncertainty in the ongoing municipal elections.
This situation has caused concern among leaders and party workers. Although both parties share a strong bond at the national level, the ground situation in Telangana looks unclear.
As a result, leaders fear their chances in the elections may suffer.
Earlier, key leaders from both parties said the BJP Janasena alliance would continue in the Telangana municipal polls.
However, the situation changed after the withdrawal of nominations. In hundreds of wards, candidates from both BJP and Janasena are now contesting against each other. Party workers say this happened due to poor coordination at the local level.

Meanwhile, leaders worry that this direct contest could split votes. This vote division may affect the final results.
Workers say the parties should have finalised the alliance early. They also feel seat sharing should have been planned in advance. Therefore, anxiety has increased within both camps as polling day nears.
On the other hand, another issue has surfaced in several wards. In many places, both parties failed to field candidates.
This problem is clear in areas with large minority populations. Municipalities like Bhainsa, Bodhan, Zaheerabad, and Vikarabad saw limited participation. In these areas, both parties could not contest all wards.
Meanwhile, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has already said he will campaign in the elections. At the same time, people linked to Jagruthi are contesting under the All India Forward Bloc banner.
Jagruthi is led by former MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha. This has added another dimension to the local contests.
Political analysts say this situation points to leadership failure. They say the BJP moved ahead without proper planning.
Analysts also question why the parties could not field candidates at the ward level. They argue this shows weak grassroots strength.
Some analysts add that leaders limited to Hyderabad may not know local leaders in smaller areas. As a result, confusion has grown and affected the BJP Janasena alliance in these municipal polls.
