Municipal Polls Heat Up: CM Revanth Reddy’s District Tours
Hyderabad, Jan. 16: Political heat has intensified in Telangana as preparations for municipal polls gather pace across the state.
With the ruling Congress aiming to retain momentum after its performance in recent panchayat polls, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has launched district tours that are sharpening the municipal elections Telangana narrative.
From today, CM Revanth Reddy’s district tours are expected to significantly influence the municipal elections Telangana campaign.
On Friday, the Chief Minister is touring the united Adilabad district as part of the outreach programme. During the visit, he will release irrigation water from the Chanaka Korata barrage and the Sadarmat barrage.
Later, he will attend a public meeting in Nirmal, where he is expected to issue clear political direction to party cadres.
Municipal Polls Telangana gain momentum with CM outreach
According to party sources, the Nirmal public meeting will serve as a platform to formally signal the Congress party’s readiness for the municipal elections Telangana.
The leadership believes the district tours will energise local cadres and strengthen organisational coordination ahead of the polls.
Officials said the Chief Minister will focus on development projects while also consolidating political messaging.
The Chief Minister’s tour schedule continues over the next two days. On Saturday, he will visit Mahabubnagar district. On Sunday, he is scheduled to tour Khammam and Warangal districts.
These back to back visits underline the importance the Congress leadership is placing on the upcoming civic body elections.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has already released the voter lists for the municipal elections Telangana.
Sources indicated that the notification for the elections may be issued within a week. While the opposition BRS and BJP have already intensified their preparations, the Chief Minister’s district tours have added fresh momentum to the evolving municipal poll battle.
Political observers noted that the campaign phase is likely to become more competitive in the coming days.
