Munugodu people voted for development, self respect: KTR

Hyderabad, Nov.6 (NSS): Hailing the party’s victory in Munugodu by-election, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said that the people had voted for development and self respect in the by-poll.

Speaking to the media at the Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday after the victory of TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy in the by-poll, the party working president thanked the people for extending their support to the ruling party and said that the victory would be a slap on the face of BJP leaders, who made a mockery of the entire election process in Telangana.

He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah had misused every institution for winning the by-poll and created many hurdles to defeat the TRS.

“We have expected a huge majority but it has come down. Despite creating hurdles by BJP leaders with the support of the union government, they couldn’t stop the victory of TRS party,” KTR said.

Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah for toppling the elected governments in nine States, he said the BJP leaders had also hatched the same conspiracy to topple the government in Telangana and had sent hundreds of crores rupees through various channels to the accounts of Telangana BJP leaders for winning the by-poll.

“BJP leaders, including Rajagopal Reddy, Eatela Rajender and Vivek were received crores of rupees in the name of their business companies from New Delhi. They tried to purchase the voters with money and spent money like water to win the by-poll. However, the people have taught a fitting lesson to them by defeating Rajagopal Reddy,’ KTR pointed out.

Finding fault with the Election Commission of India (ECI) for allocating the road roller and Chapati Maker symbols to Independent candidates despite the TRS raising objections, KTR said that over 6,000 votes were gone to those symbols which are similar to the TRS’s party car symbol. (NSS)
