Hyderabad: A family dispute turned fatal after a man allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death during an argument at their residence in Rein Bazaar on Sunday night.
The incident took place in Amannagar under Rein Bazaar police station limits and created panic in the locality.
According to police, Mohd Razaq (62) and Asha Begum (56) have two sons and three daughters. While their daughters are married, the sons, Mohd Habeeb Pasha alias Sameer (25) and Mohd Farooq Pasha alias Chotubaba (22), were working at a bakery in Hyderabad.
Police said family tensions had been increasing for the past few weeks due to Habeeb Pasha’s alleged behaviour at home.
Frequent Arguments Between Brothers
Family members informed police that Habeeb Pasha had recently been returning home drunk and allegedly abusing his mother and sister regularly.
Farooq Pasha reportedly confronted and warned his elder brother several times over the issue. However, repeated arguments continued between the two brothers.
On Sunday night, another heated argument reportedly broke out after Habeeb Pasha allegedly abused family members while under the influence of alcohol.
Police said the argument quickly escalated inside the house.
Victim Died On The Spot
In a fit of rage, Farooq Pasha allegedly attacked his elder brother with a knife.
Habeeb Pasha sustained severe injuries and reportedly died on the spot before medical assistance could arrive.
After receiving information, Rein Bazaar police rushed to the scene and shifted the body for postmortem examination.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the murder.
Officials said the accused was under investigation and further legal action would be taken after completion of preliminary procedures.
The incident shocked local residents, who gathered near the house after learning about the murder.
