Amaravati/Hyderabad, Nov 1 (Maxim News): Former Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana made sensational remarks during the 5th Convocation of WIT Andhra Pradesh University, revealing that his family had been targeted and criminal cases were filed against them.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Ramana said that the city of Amaravati was built on the hardships and sacrifices of farmers, who had struggled for the establishment of the capital with immense determination. Referring to the verses of noted Telugu poet Sri Sri, Justice Ramana remarked, “Every country has its reasons for pride,” and adapted it to highlight the spirit of Amaravati. He praised WIT University for standing firm during those turbulent periods and for extending its support to local communities by contributing to education and healthcare initiatives in nearby villages.
Justice Ramana also shared memories from the Emergency period, recalling how he and others used to hold secret meetings on the banks of the Krishna River, emphasizing his deep connection to the region.
