Nabbed Two Drug Manufacturers: Seized Lab And Drugs Worth Rs. 1 Crore

Hyderabad, June 18 (Maxim News):  The sleuths of TGNAB along with Gummadidala Police, Sangareddy District apprehended (02) persons who were manufacturing the Alprazolam Drug and selling the same to needy customers and earning money illegally. Seized (2.6) KGs Alprazolam drug and the entire manufacturing lab along with equipment used in manufacturing & Mobile Phones from their possession.

The accused arrested 1) Gosukonda Anji Reddy, age 41 yrs, Occ. Business (owner of Chandra Reddy Garden and Gummadidala Swimming pool at Gummadidala village), R/o Flat No.106, Keerthi homes, Bowrampet, Hyderabad N/o H.No.4-48, beside Mallareddy Hospital, Gummadidala,  Sangateddy Dist.  2) Kyasaram Rakesh age 36 yrs, Occ: Real estate Business, R/o Flat. No. 301, 3rd floor, H.No.1-35, Med Plus Building, Friends colony,  opp Saibaba temple, Miyapur, Hyd, N/o Panchalingala (v), Marpally (M), Vikarabad Dist. and seized Alprazolam Drug – 2.6 KGs,  Stage 1 Intermediate product – 20 KGs, Stage 2 Intermediate product – 10 KGs, Mixed solution – 350 Liters 5) Hexa methyl anytitamine – 35 KGs 6) Acetic Acid – 15 Liters 7) Ammonium Carbonate – 1 barrel 8) Phosphorous penta sulfide – 90 KGs

This is a case of Narcotic Drug manufacturing, where a big network of Alprazolam (Narcotic Substance) manufacturing and supplying gang is busted two drug manufacturers are arrested and seized entire manufacturing unit running clandestinely at Sy. No. 174/28, in the outskirts of Kothapally village of Gummadidala mandal, Sangareddy District. The main accused 1) G.Anji Reddy, 2) Kyasaram Rakesh 3) Prabhakar Goud along with Sai Kumar are formed into a gang and illegally manufacturing Alprazolam, selling the same to the needy toddy compounds for the preparation of spurious toddy.

Alprazolam is a highly addictive drug even Allopathic Doctors prescribe 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg maximum and that too for 14 days. As per the NDPS Act, the commercial quantity is 100 Grams the same as Cocaine. Further dangerous chemicals like Bezyl Cyanide are used to manufacture Alprazolam in makeshift Labs by illiterate people God forbid if something goes wrong. If a person drinks Alprazolam laced toddy for more than 14 days, he or she develops Tolerance, Dependence & Addiction. He will continue to drink till his death of kidney/Liver/Lung failure. The period before death brings tremendous pain and requires costly treatment.

Another impediment in the control of Alprazolam laced toddy is that every Rupee invested gives 20 to 40 times returns.

No wonder in the last year 5 factories manufacturing alprazolam were unearthed 1) Nagarkurnool DRI, 2) Jinnaram, 3) Cherlapally, 4) Vijaywada, 5) Fisalwad, 6) Gummadilala. In addition, Alprazolam is being supplied from Pune, Indore, Ratlam, Delhi, and Tamilnadu.

The accused Sai Kumar Goud is the main culprit who was previously arrested in two NDPS cases for possession and selling of Alprazolam. In 2021 he was arrested by NCB for possessing 3 KGs Alprazolam and recently on 04-04-2024 he was again arrested by Genome Valley Police, Cyberabad, and lodged in Cherlapally jail for possessing 1.08 KGs of Alprazolam. ‘Sai Kumar Goud and K. Rakesh have previously worked in various pharma laboratories and acquired knowledge of chemicals and the manufacturing of Alprazolam. As they could find huge demand for Alprazolam making of adulterated toddy they started manufacturing of Alprazolam to earn easy money.

On credible information, when the accused persons were apprehended at the manufacturing unit at Sy. No.174/28, Kothapally village of Gummadidala Mandal, Sangareddy Dist along with drugs and equipment, and registered a case

The above arrests were made under the supervision of CH. Roopesh, SP Sangareddy, Ch.Sridhar, DSP, TGNAB by  D.Santosh Kumar, Inspector of Police, TGNAB and staff of TGNAB along with Gummadidala Police, Sangareddy Dist. (Maxim News)
