Nalas Would be Developed to Avoid Inundation: Minister Talasani

Hyderabad, Feb.10 (Maxim News): Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that Nalas in the twin cities would be developed to avoid inundation.

The minister said that they have allotted Rs 12.86 cr for nalas development and retaining walls to tide over inundation problems in the city.

The minister attended a program to start works of the nalas with MLAs Gopinath, Krishna Rao and deputy mayor Srilatha, officials. He asked the officials concerned to complete the same without any delay. The minister extended thanks to the minister for municipal administration and industries for allocation of the funds.

Out of 2423 mt length the officials took up works of 830 mt nalas stretching from Sanath Nagar, Kukatpally and Jubilee Hills in the first phase. The rest of the works will be completed after the first phase of the works, Srinivas Yadav said.

The government allotted Rs 12.86 cr for the nalas development and drains in the city, he said asked the officials concerned sto complete the works in coordination with local people and other wings.

We have allotted necessary funds under Strategic Nalas Development Program (SNDP) to complete the works, the minister said. Illegal structures will face action and aim is to ensure that the nalas and drain water lanes get retaining walls. We are taking up the works of nalas and drains to address the problems of inundation and storm water during the rainy season, the minister said. (Maxim News)
