Nano urea is ideal for global agriculture: Niranjan Reddy

Hyderabad, Aug.26 (Maxim News): Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said that Nano urea is ideal for global agriculture.

Speaking at a conference ” On the need to use fertilizers, chemicals and nano-urea in Agriculture”, organised by Acharya Jayashankar Agriculture University at its auditorium here on Friday, the Agriculture Minister said that Dr. Ramesh Raliya Scientist and Entrepreneur-Nano Technology has discovered this technology and gave it to Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) for the welfare of farmers.

IFFCO is the world’s largest federation of 36,000 cooperatives, Niranjan Reddy said.

He said the Nano-urea was applied in 11,000 farmers’ fields and the results were checked and released in the market.

The Minister said that for the first time, Urea in liquid form was made available in Nano technology and with this, the big process of moving fertilizer bags would become easy.

Due to excessive use of Fertilizers and urea, ponds and ground water is getting polluted. In this background, the Telangana government has decided to divert farmers towards the Nano-urea, Niranjan Reddy said.

He further said with the use of Nano urea, plants get more leafy green and the crop grows faster. This leads to freezing of urea, overcoming the transportation costs, storage problems in warehouses and reducing the foreign imports.

Stating that 500 milli liters of Nano urea is equivalent to one bag of urea, the Agriculture Minister said only 30 to 50 percent urea is usable by plants wherein the Nano urea can work upto 80 percent and support the growth plant growth.

He said the Telangana State is now a role model for the cultivation of agriculture and exuded confidence that with the use of Nano urea, it would once again stand as a compass for the country. (Maxim News)
