In a meeting held on Wednesday with university officials and agricultural technology experts, Lokesh proposed structured partnerships to develop precision farming, climate-resilient crop research, and technology adoption at the grassroots. He also recommended collaboration with Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University to share expertise on advanced farming methods and improve productivity.

Lokesh said that integrating artificial intelligence into agriculture can help farmers make data-led decisions, optimize irrigation, and adapt to erratic weather shifts. “Joint training programmes for farmers and agri-professionals can speed up the use of smart techniques and agritech innovations,” he said. He emphasized that research-backed policy inputs and sustainability strategies would help Andhra Pradesh design long-term agricultural reforms.

The minister proposed creating AI-driven agriculture hubs that combine sensing, analytics, and advisory systems for farmers. He noted that these hubs could serve as innovation centers connecting field practices with academic research and AI model development. He also stressed the importance of pilot projects that could later scale across districts.

Highlighting the broader impact, Lokesh said partnerships must focus on skill development, sustainable soil and water management, and precision farming to reduce waste and increase yields. He called for universities to help the state design evidence-based solutions for climate resilience and rural transformation.
