National Seminar on Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb held at MANUU

Hyderabad: The Department of Education and Training, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a One Day National Seminar on Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb (Pluralistic Culture).

The guest of honour, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar in his address in the inaugural held yesterday highlighted the role of higher education institutions in promoting Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb, quoting Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s famous words that “Hindustan is like a beautiful bride, and Hindus and Muslims are its two eyes.”

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Dean SE&T & seminar director delivered keynote address. He emphasized on the uniqueness and beauty of Indian culture while shedding light on the past, present, and future of Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb.

Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD-I discussed the role of education in promoting Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb in the first technical session. Prof. M.V. Ram Kumar Ratnam, Prof.J.V. Madhusudan, Dr. Packiam Samuel, Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf, Prof. M. Vanaja, Prof. Gulfishan Habeeb, Dr. Syed Mahmood Kazmi were the other speakers of the technical sessions.

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Prof. Prof. Mohd. Razaullah Khan and Prof. ViqarUnnisa shared their remarks in the valedictory session  and certificates were also distributed to the paper presenters.  

The third technical session featured insightful presentations on various topics related to Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb, with three parallel sessions chaired by Prof. Shaheen A. Shaikh, Dr. Firoz Alam, and Dr. Md. Athar Hussain.

Overall, 61 papers were presented on various sub-themes related to Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb.

Dr. Ashwani was the coordinator of the seminar whereas Dr. V.S. Sumi, the co-coordinator. Dr. Akthar Parveen, Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Samad Thazhe Vadakkayil, Dr. Jarrar Ahamad, Dr. Umme Salma, and Dr. B. Bhagyamma were the organizing committee members.
