Naveen Yadav Likely to Be Congress Candidate for Jubilee Hills By-Election
Hyderabad, Oct 7 (Maxim News): The name of Naveen Yadav has reportedly been finalized as the Congress candidate for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. Sources indicate that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his preference for Naveen during a Zoom meeting held earlier today.
Former Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, who was also in the race for the Jubilee Hills ticket, has announced his withdrawal from contention. He stated that the Congress high command will take the final decision on the candidature and assured that he would work wholeheartedly for the party’s victory in the by-election.
The ruling Congress Party is treating the Jubilee Hills by-election as a prestige battle. After securing a win in the Secunderabad Cantonment by-election earlier this year—defying predictions of a weakened position—the party is keen to replicate its success in Jubilee Hills.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud are said to be personally overseeing the campaign strategy. Senior leaders including Ministers Gaddam Vivek, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Ponnam Prabhakar, along with several corporation chairmen and local leaders, have already begun groundwork in the constituency.
The party leadership had earlier considered fielding a BC candidate, and names such as Naveen Yadav and Bonthu Rammohan were discussed extensively. However, it is now learned that CM Revanth Reddy has shown clear interest in finalizing Naveen Yadav’s candidature for the prestigious constituency.
