Greater Noida/Hyderabad, Oct 18 (Maxim News): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted two illegal synthetic drug laboratories in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested two people, including a foreign national.
The operation, codenamed Crystal Hunt, was conducted on October 16 at two rented premises in Jahanabad Kadalpur village. Officials seized 379.74 kg of amphetamine-containing material and 10 kg of pseudoephedrine. The NCB estimated the potential illicit market value of the recoveries at around ₹45 crore.
The seized amphetamine-containing material included crystalline, semi-crystalline and liquid forms. Investigators also recovered chemicals and equipment allegedly used in synthetic drug manufacturing.
According to the NCB, the crystalline and semi-crystalline material could yield approximately 56 kg of finished crystalline amphetamine. The agency is investigating the alleged manufacturing operation and possible links to drug distribution networks.
NCB Identifies Two Accused in Greater Noida Drug Lab Case
The arrested accused were identified as Destiny Abraham Dumbiri, who claimed to be a Nigerian national, and Lallawmzuali, also known as Olivia Lalchawimawii, a resident of Mizoram.
The NCB said immigration records indicated that Dumbiri entered India in January 2020 using the name Francis Kalokoh. He reportedly travelled on a tourist visa as a Sierra Leone national, which was valid until December 2020.
Olivia had previously been arrested in a separate case investigated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). That case involved the alleged seizure of 313 grams of heroin-containing powder at Goa’s Dabolim Airport in March 2026. She was reportedly out on bail in that case when she was arrested in the present investigation.
The NCB is examining the source of the chemicals, the alleged manufacturing process and the possible distribution network. The agency is also investigating whether the accused had links to other people involved in synthetic drug production.
The arrests and seizures form part of the agency’s efforts to dismantle clandestine drug-manufacturing facilities. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
