New Delhi, August 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers and leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday attended the coalition’s weekly ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting in Parliament, where presentations highlighted India’s achievements in international sports and the government’s employment generation. initiatives.

During the meeting at the Parliament House complex, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya presented the government’s efforts to strengthen India’s sporting ecosystem since 2014.

According to BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, the presentation highlighted India’s improved performance in global sporting events, including the Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, attributing the success to policies introduced by the Modi government.

The meeting also focused on employment opportunities for young people.

Tiwari said members were informed that employment generation had increased significantly over the past decade. According to figures presented during the meeting, 2.89 crore people secured employment between 2004 and 2014, while 17.1 crore people found employment between 2014 and 2026.

A separate presentation outlined various social security schemes implemented by the Central government.

The meeting was attended by senior Union ministers, including:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
  • Home Minister Amit Shah
  • External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar
  • Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan
  • Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

BJP President Nitin Nabin was seated alongside Prime Minister Modi during the session. The meeting came a day after the BJP lost the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar to political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore.

The Bankipur bypoll was necessitated after Nitin Nabin vacated the seat following his election to the Rajya Sabha upon assuming charge as BJP president.

NDA Allies Participate

Leaders from NDA allies, including JD(U), JD(S), NCP, Shiv Sena and NCPI, also attended the meeting.

NCPI leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, who recently joined the party after leaving the Trinamool Congress, described his first NDA parliamentary meeting as a positive experience and said party members were united
